Will you always be an Eng / Scot / Wal / NI fan?
I remember once sharing a house in Sydney with some English expat girls who had decided lock, stock and barrel to be an Australia fan, whether it be rugby, cricket, olympics etc...
They had only lived in Australia for three years!
I was actually disgusted by this. It is one thing to embrace your new country but I am sure most Brits will always be Brits, especially when it comes to sport and nationalism...

I'll always cheer for Wales over all others.
Won't cheer for England & Wales cricket team. I'm not keen on some of the supporters
The strange thing is that although I cheer for UK teams I don't have such a strong desire to see them win. I was watching the Lions play NZ a few years back and to be honest I could give a monkeys who won. Same with the Olympics. Really glad that GB did well but again didn't give a monkeys who they beat.

Are they the only options? I'm Irish and I'd like to still support them. But if that's not allowed then I'll go for Scotland.

Cant see myself supporting Australia to be honest. In rugby, they seem to be far too arrogant, same for cricket. I'll definitely go to see them play though as they arent half bad at Rugby. I'm Irish and have been putting up with poor football from our national team for far too long. But, I think we're about to see a change. Who bets Ireland win a major competition before England win another?

Things started to change for me, after about 16 years here, and 3 kids, I had started to lose interest in following England and my UK football team. I was never really interested in cricket, so all the fuss about that tended to pass me by.
In 1996, Australia imported VerryTerribles, to manage the national team, there was heaps of hype, I took a bit of interest and seeing as the WC qualifying game against Iran was in Melbourne, decided to go along, I've not looked back since that point, becoming more and more interested in Australia sporting success.
Right now I'm not totally sure, who I would want to win a very important game between England and Aus, in football, I suspect it could well be Australia, but that doesnt stop me backing and getting excited when England win games against anyone else.
I think the game in England is Stuffed beyond recognition, and if Australia beating England, which I'm sure will happen, fixes this problem...after all the banner at Upton Park said it all "if we can beat you at this you are crap at everything" If it takes a WC win of Aus over England to fix the current debacle that is English football, then I reckon thats a good thing.
I'd love to see England v Aus in a final, but that will never happen, I reckon Aus has more chance.

I'm a quality sports supporter. Doesn't matter to me who's playing, if they're playing brilliantly I'll support them. My heart always wants the England football team to do well but my head knows full well it won't happen I don't find the Aussie Rugby team to be arrogant, well certainly not in the same league as the Aussie Cricket team who are total arrogant w*nkers.
Wouldn't dream of supporting Scotland, Wales or NI in anything - there's no quality there

This new Wales kids, Aaron Ramsey could be the real deal and I believe it only takes 1 player in that CM position to drag an average team into a strong era. Roy Keane was doing it for Ireland for long enough.
