My name is jude & i live in starthpine in pine rivers.
I noticed you all had a meet up & would loved to have joined you. we go to the plough often!

We went to the southbank one on Sunday - it was nice to meet a few locals for a change! We live in Balmoral - about a 10 minute drive from the city so we would give consideration to any other meets at Southbank or New Farm, or anywhere near the city really.
Why don't you get the ball rolling and organise one yourself? I did a really big meet at New Farm (quite a long time ago now) - but it was very successful. I don 't spend that much time on expats these days but if you pick a date AFTER June 15th then we should be able to make it. I'll keep my eye on this thread and see if anything comes of it.

Go for it Jude!
I went to quite a few meets and never knew a soul. When it came to arranging one I was terrified no-one would turn up so I organised it a couple of months in advance, and we must have had at least 30 people, probably more. Its a bit daunting for everyone at first. In fact now I come to think of it I knew no-one at Sunday's meet either and yet we met some lovely 'local' people! All our really close friends in Oz were introduced at ex-pat meets. So just pick a date, time and venue (a few weeks in advance), and I guarantee you'll get a great response.
And if you turn up and everyone looks a bit weird - just pretend you're someone else
(but don't say you're Netta 
)

We are new members to the site and we are still in the UK but are visiting Brisbane to decide whether we would like to move there so we would be interested in a meet up in late June.

Brill that so many of ypou are up for a meet already. That makes me feel so much more positive now!
End of june is good for me. I will have a think of some dates then & put a post up to see what everyone thinks & where we can meet!
Prob be good to do the families thing IMO as we can all suss everyone out & their partners too
Thats of course everyone else is ok with that! If not then i will come along on my own!

We would definitely be interested in a meet. We arrive on 25 June and are staying in Newstead. Families would be preferable for us as we won't have a babysitter.
