I have just done it heaps of times and it got it right evey time :scared:

Heres how it works ....
eg
73
73 - (7+3) = 63 = 9*7
65
65 - (6+5) = 54 = 9*6
52
52 - (5+2) = 45 = 9*5
13
13 - (1+4) = 9*1
So do you see a pattern? The result will always be multiples of 9.
So if you observe the chart, all the numbers that are Multiples of 9 will have the same symbol. Just to distract, they may intersperse the same symbol else where. And Also observe your answer can never be greater than 81 (for 99 - (9+9) = 81).So the have placed the symbols randomly after 81 for more chaos.
The next time you try, they just change the symbol for the multiples of 9 . And the symbol is displayed , irrespective of what you think.

Okay sorry for the delay in respone but that will teach me a lesson for not being on email notification wont it! However my explanation was not going to be anywhere near as detailed as that so I will bow my head in reverence to those that explain it well.
