Default Will this affect my medical result?

In the last 6 months I have been diagnosed with glandular fever and depression resulting from the gf. Does anyone know if this will affect my medical result ? I'm just starting prozac.

Hi, if you search the forum for 'depression' or ' despression medical' there is tons of stuff.

My partner has suffered with depression and had several breakdowns. She's now on AD tabs, but well over the recent troubles.

We have been advised to wait till she is 100% over it all, before going for a medical.

Depression will NOT stop you getting into Oz tho, that I know ... (or have been told!)

Good luck! ...

Thanks for that. I should have completed the prozac prior to the medical as it's just to cover the last 2/3 months of glandular fever. Will do a search

Yeah I'm certain you'll be ok. My partners Phsychiatrist has recommended she stays on her AD till we've been over there 6 months to be sure. It's a totally diff case to yours, but the point is that even being in them won't cause you to fail a medical.

You'll fail a medical for many reasons, but mainly if your gonna cost Aus over a certain figure per year to keep.

I'm not a medical expert, but from what I can gather DIMIA will probably consider how much it will cost to pay for treatment in Aus [if required] and if there is an ongoing problem or not.

I don't think this would stop you passing your medical. It may mean you require further medical evidence to suggest a temporary medical problem, but it shouldn't affect your visa.

Hope you soon feel better Heather
