Hello,

Me n my hubby arrived in NZ on the 29th December, in Wanaka, and we love the place, after living in UK for 30 + years moving out here was a dream come true.

This place is amazing, people are stressfree, polite ( yes you get the odd person ) but then nowhere is perfect, but compared to england its paradise, i can walk down the street and people smile they say G'day, my kids keep saying " who was that mum? " and i say i dont know, then they ask why did they speak to you then...in UK i could see the same people day after day and they never said a word let alone smiled!!!!

Wanaka is beautiful, expensive to live compared to where i came from in UK, but worth it.

All i can say is when you move to a new country bring your possesions but not your life, be prepared to start a new one! trying to live your UK life in NZ or Australia wont work!

Good luck to everyone, just be prepared to relax and you'll be just fine ! and watch out for the drivers in Wanaka, there's dangerous...heehee
Welcome to NZ ! - we need more people like you who are prepared to see the positives as well as the negatives and then adopt this country as their own and try and make it a better place for all who live in this blessed island nation . If all we can do is criticize the system then what do we actually achieve ? Act locally , think globally ...

Tom
