why more oz are leaving
hi all.
I see so many are eager to settel in oz, so am I , But also I note in 2007/08 76923 oz's has departed permenantly, where as the migration for the same period is 149365, which mean the net migration is only 72442. ( 51.5 % )emigrated http://www.immi.gov.au/media/fact-sh...igration_1.htm. my question is why so many are leaving ? Have I got my info correct ? becasue if this is correct I sure would dig deeper to find out why so many are leaving before moving my self. also I am trying to find out how many PR application were received annually for all skill migration and what is the rejection percentage. can someone help to find this info. thanks |
Re: why more oz are leaving
There are many reasons why people choose to leave. Take a read of the moving back to the UK section of this forum to find some of their reasons. Others simply move on, much as you plan to move on from your home country. Others still may have PR visas but never intended to stay here forever.

Re: why more oz are leaving
People will always leave. The fact that there is positive net inwards migration should be taken as a, errr, positive.

Re: why more oz are leaving
what do you mean by "and?"
and 0.4% of the population is small number and thus the OP may be placing more concern than necessary on the fact that some people choose to leave Australia permanently. Does that help???

Well, apologies if you took offence so easily, though I fail to see how you could be offended

I just don't see what relevance that has to my original post. I was just expressing an opinion that some people move here and then move on after a while to experience something different.

Re: why more oz are leaving
I presume a lot of people leave because as a lot of the time the reality is never as good as the dream. Every one is looking for something different and if you have never been to Australia before or even had the experience of moving to another town/city within the UK then the experience can be daunting and you may just be relying on ‘it must be better than here’.
Before you come to oz be honest about what improvements you want to make to your current life and after living here for a while honestly re-asses them. I presume a lot of people keep on trying to kid them selves that this must be better without ever ticking off the reasons they moved here. There is no shame to return to the UK and saying, it just wasn’t right. Disclaimer: This is just my opinion and is not meant to offend any body |
