Hi there,
My family are emigrating to Melbourne, landing on February 9th and just wanted to know what you think of the place. We are planning to move to Ferntree Gully.

Don't get me wrong, I love it, we have a great house with a fantastic view over to Glen waverly.
Its a super location as Knox city shopping centre is 5 mins drive away, the dandenongs are only 15 to 20 mins & the city within a half hour drive.
Its a far better suburb than its near neighbour Rowville which IMO has no character at all.
There are loads of nice suburbs around the area though including Berwick, Wantirna, Croydon hills etc etc.

How comes you are still up ? Isn't it 2:40am over there ?
We are currently looking for caravan parks to go into for our first 2 weeks there, apparently the estate agents wont let us get a rental accomodation until we land and then it takes 10 days for us to move in, bit of a pain but there you go!!!
Did you emigrate over and if so how was your experience ?

Ive been here 6 years now & loving it. It does take about a year though to settle properly, sometimes longer & for a few, well they never really settle.
I remember our first 6 months here, my Mrs would have gone back to Scotland in a flash. Now she loves it here, we both became citizens this year & are now proud to call Australia home.

We are planning to live around the Carrum or Mt. Eliza area.
Surely Bordy will let you camp in his garden for a while

Hi
We're landing on 17 Feb and probably staying at the Chelsea Gardens caravan park for the first 3-4 weeks. No idea where we'll end up after that - depends on many things....
