We are going the first week in July, also to Rockingham! If you do find a cheap short term accomm - fancy lending the two of us a spare room for a couple of weeks til we get sorted with a rental?
We'll scratch yer back of course!

Hi Dawn, from what i've looked at the average seems to be about 550 dollars per week for fully furnished accom, would be interested to hear what other people have found and where.

I am moving back to Australia in Dec 2006 and I cannot wait. Haven't booked my ticket yet (still need to get my fiance his visa). I am a citizen, and we have been together for 8 years, so cannot see it being too much of a problem.
I am so excited at the thought of living back in Joondalup again
Sad but true!!!!
I miss daylight
at the moment, there is more night time in the day than day time!! Anyway 'whinge' over
Good Luck to all those that are moving to Perth!
If anyone needs a handyman for painting/decorating, reticulation, pergola's etc then PM me. My Dad has his own business running from Joondalup! Mention Ex-Pats and he will give you a good quote

Margaret,
I love the new part of Joondalup where the names are mostly places in London,
Nottinghill Street,
Putney Place,
Blackfriars Road,
Aldgare Street,
Regents Park Road,
to name just a few
I have lived in the old part (near Joondalup Primary) and the new part (near hospital) and both are lovely
I first moved to Joondalup in 1993 when it was very small (before lakeside shops opened).

thank you for providing a wealth of information in your email. My family and I are in the process of applying for our visas. I am a secondary school teacher and my wife is a registered child minder. We have two children, a boy of 9 and a girl of 2. We have never been to Australia so this is quite a big step for us but we are absolutely sure its what we want to do. My brother has lived in Adelaide for the past 16 years and has given us information about living out there, but living in Perth has more appeal to us. To be frank, could you give me any info about cost of living, house prices etc... Many thanks John and Hadime

never have enough friends and since we are alreday here we may be able to help out with any questions you guys may have..........I must apologize to the folks already here as i have not got involved with any of you since my arrival and it all sounds like great fun, especially the perth ladies......1st reason, hubby takes the car to work and if i do have it im not confident goin to far from rocky, the other main reason is i was crook not long after i got here but recovering slowly........so hoping if anyone around the rocky area plans anything local i would like to join in and meet lots of people.........I dont work so have plenty of time to mingle and would happily have a coffee morn etc to meet the ones that are here already........well good luck to all those comin out you will love it........Speak soon hopefully........jan hutchinson.xxxxxxxx

We will probably end up in the Nothern Suburbs somewhere but as Perth is the one place we didn't visit two years ago that is only because that seems the norm.

Hi
I think the world and his wife are going to Perth at the moment. We are hoping to be there by the end of this year. Freemantle is out of this world apparently and so is secret harbour. My family and I have decided to get there and then look around areas near where my husband will be working to get a feel for the place, as they say one persons cup of tea in anothers rolling stone?! Erm... I think the emigrating lark is sending me slightly mad.
