If you are a B and they turn you down, do you have a right to submit further evidence at a later date?

Don't buy that i'm afraid - the Dr sounds like he dosen't care!

A Cat B is seen as a greater risk to Australia. you would probably get the visa anyway but it isn't helping your case.

Not sure what you should do honey,

I would get a true diagnosis in the 1st place. No idea if you can go back and cry over spilt milk. Maybe the cardiologist didn't realise what the impact of the 24 hr tape would be - ie cat a or cat b.

I would say you don't want cat b on your form so would like the 24 hr tape done and fair enough if thats abnormal you can go on as a cat B - but I would want to know the truth 1st

I don't think anyone has suggested catB yet.

Ali said IF her BP was high then it may be catB. I don't think an examining doctor would ignore a specialist report.

I do agree with you about the need for a thorough examination before such a diagnosis is made though.

thank you, problem is that at the moment the monitor I got from boots is showing that I am not controlling my BP very well. Sometimes it is good sometimes it is not.

Question Re: white coat hypertension - help please

Am I understanding this right, that it is the UK doctor doing the medical that decides whether you are category A or category B? I always assumed it was the doc in Sydney.

Believe it or not White coat hypertension can happen when you monitor your own BP.

A 24 hour monitor automatically takes you BP on a regular basis and you do not get the same effect.

I have had a really supportive email from my agent so I am feeling a bit happier now however I don't believe you. I cannot believe this 24 hour monitor will not lead to me being in such a stressed state I might keel over. I was thinking about taking a double dose of night nurse every 8 hours and sleeping through the whole ordeal!

Thanks for that. I can't believe I didn't know that despite spending so much time on here. So if the doctor said that it all looks fine subject to letters from our GP then we should pass the medicals. I suddenly feel a lot closer to getting on that plane.

Where are you having your meds done?
My advice is so negative at the moment because we have fallen at every hurdle despite the fact that we should have been a straightforward case. Good luck with yours.

We have already done them, in Birmingham last week. The doc seemed upbeat but requested a letter each from our GP which is proving difficult as our GP's don't seem to know what to do, where the letter is in their systems etc etc.

Keep at it. The more you suffer now the more you will celebrate when you finally get that yellow envelope.
