yeah i've been there. Not for long, only for a quick holiday. My main reasons for going are friends and a job (in IT!). I agree it might not be the choice of many, but for me it holds the start of a new life.
If i decide i'm staying in aus, want to or have to move jobs i will look at other cities. Until then i'm just glad i'm landing on my feet running. It will be a good networking opportunity in IT for when you want to move on. |
Middle of nowhere, NSW. Nundle, to be precise. Up on the Northern Tablelands in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. About 500km northwest of Sydney. Nearest big town is Tamworth (Country Music Capital of Australia) 60mk away. Nundle has a population of 300, one pub, two shops and a bank on Thursday mornings. I love it.

I've never been a big city lad myself, i'd rather be out in the wilds somewhere. Unfortunately though, there's not much call for a web developer in the middle of nowhere... and who says the internet is global? ;) That's one thing i loved about canberra, when i had a good look around it didn't feel much bigger than doncaster, yet when you see it from above it's massive. I felt right at home there. :) |

It's a question of preference: you're either a city person or you're not. I like to be able to visit the city, but go back to the sticks. |
