Everyone on these forums have a different opinions, but BRITVICS is Victoria based and they are very friendly and there's loads of threads on schools and areas good and not so. Loads of people rave about Mornington Peninsular, beaches, good schools but further away from the Melbourne. If you want to be able to walk to a beach and will do that more often than go into the city then maybe move further down the coast, more affordable.

Good luck with the searching, I know how frustrating it is and doesn't help when you get p*** take responses :)

Point Cook. 25 minutes drive into the city (although this does vary depending on traffic) 30 minutes on the train (although you do have to drive to the station - about 10 mins from Point Cook). Werribee South beach is a 10 minute drive, Point Cook Costal reserve 10 minutes from Point Cook town Centre, Altona Beach 10ish minutes drive, Williamstown Beach 20 min drive. Geelong and the lovely beaches down there less then 1 hour, house prices reasonable. The west isn't everyone's cup of tea but we like it over here. Not sure what the schools are like as we don't have kids, but here seem to be plenty here and they are all new.

Great info thankyou, Does anyone know is east or west best for mechanical jobs?
