Default Where to stay for recce to Brisbane area?

We are planning on going out to Brisbane in March/April to do a recce - can anyone recommend places to stay? Self-catering preferably, and would be for 2 adults & 1 toddler (22 months).

Thanks

We stayed in Brisbane last August in the Bayside area the place we stayed was the Cleveland motor inn. It has small units with either 1 or 2 bedrooms with kitchen and shower room. There is a swimming pool with undercover barbecue area and laundry facilities on site. The owners were really nice and live on site in their own home. They will even arrange to pick you up at airport and take you back but you do have to book for this we were to late but getting their by taxi was no problem.

It is very central near to train station, restaurants shops etc and it lies between central Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Hope this gives you a start, have a great trip
