Where to live?

Hiya, can anyone recommend a place to live when going to Australia, we can't afford to visit many places on holiday to choose our perfect place so I'm hoping someone can help.
We would like to be near the sea - preferably lots of marinas for my partners business. We would like to be no more than an hour from a city centre, close to schools.
Weather would be warm all year round, with some young couples like ourselves,
We are a family of 3, I stay at home with our 8 week old and my partner goes out to work. I will look for a job once our son can go into something equivalent to nursery. I would like there to be plenty of activities and walks...
Thanks in advance.

Britgirl as mentioned on your mortgages thread, you really need to focus on whether you can get a visa before worrying about lifestyle stuff.
I have looked at your questions and tried to comment, but really these are not questions that are going to help you narrow down your search. You need to think about what will differentiate one place from another, your questions are not going to do that...
My tips on what will differentiate one place from another are a) availability of work in your occupations, b) budget and c) climate or more specifically your ability to put up with intense heat and humidity.

Well that leaves nearly everywhere in Australia. If you look at a map, you will see that the cities are (nearly) all on the coast, we live around the edges in Australia not the middle.

Compared to Europe, you will find most of Australia pretty warm all year round. Although most of the cities will get colder in winter, but still nothing like UK. And of course everywhere is going to have young couples?
We do not get shipped in and out of a location according to our age group.

I have rewritten this one a few times as I just don't know what to say... You can walk anywhere can't you? Activities? They can be found anywhere too, what kind of activities do you like? I guess if you like surfing then Alice Springs wont do, other than that, really hard to comment. You need to think more about the points of difference as I mentioned up front to this post.
Thanks in advance.

I initially thought of Isle of White, but it aint that warm.
As bermudashorts said really, pretty undefined questions will get kind of weak answers.

Take a step back here, if someone was to ask you "hey I'm moving across to Europe can you recommend me somewhere to stay?" you'd think that was a pretty ridiculous question wouldn't you?
All the major cities (and hundreds of smaller places in between) in Australia answer every one of your questions. You have to be more specific.
You are never going to find your perfect place on a holiday either so I wouldn't get too worked up about that. I've been to Oz twice on holiday and have stayed here for over 5 years I don't think we've found out "perfect" area yet!

Just a quick word on warm all year round.
Most of the big cities have cool winters (not cold) and the houses feel cold due to lack of insulation and central heating.
If you live in an area that has a warm winter, then you will be looking at very hot, humid summers.
I think the most important thing is to see where your OH will get work and then do some research from there
