What's the service like? For me its been an issue here and its such an important part of the curry house experience. At the risk of sounding racist/sexist I don't like going to a curry house and being served by non Indians, also young girls. The UK in general has poor service but curry houses are remarkably good at it - they just understand it. They keep you topped up and are always on it. Here you get these aloof pretty young girls who space out and you have stand up and clap your hands in their face to get some service.

Spice Avenue is a family run restaurant,the family being Indian expats from the Birmingham area of England.There are a few young people serving as three out of 4 of them do the cooking but never had any problems what so ever with the service Usually VERY BUSY by the way at weekends so booking would be advisable

Not too sure where the owners are from in Maharajas but they are from Indian descent i would say looking at them Once again never had anything but good service imo This one is a byo by the way where as Spice is licensed and stocked with a vast array of English beers in a can Both of them only about 3-400 metres from their respective train stations if you have to travel Just done the takeaway and it was yummy !
