We are headed for Adelaide. The primary reason for this is that I have family out there, but it did help when we realised that the climate there is less extreme than other parts of Australia, and there are less beasties:scared:

Hi
we're heading for Adelaide
like fact that it's a small city, and not isolated like Perth.
Better climate than Melbourne, cheaper cost of living, and electricians on occupations in demand list!!

As you already know we are heading to Adelaide. Mainly because we have family there. also house prices are more affordable than some other areas. Finally my mum has just come back from visiting her rellies and has shown me all her pics.....

Hi, we shall be off once we have sold our house - the waiting game again. Can't decide between Adelaide and Brisbane.

Melbourne - for the food, sport, climate, jobs, and the rather handy proximity of a certain car importer!
Did consider Perth (too isolated), Sydney (too expensive), and Adelaide (too bloody crowded with you lot going
) but Melbourne was always first choice.

We'll be going to Adelaide if they'll let us in!!
It just looks perfect: great climate, good schools, affordable housing, jobs aplenty and they need Fitters!

We are off to Melbourne as we have a large group of friends from there who we know through my husband playing cricket. The question is who to support when we get there I'm English, My husband is Sri Lankan and we are moving to Australia?????
I will always go for england and when they fail it has to be Sri Lanka!!!!!!!!
Back to the subject we loved the Mornington Pennisula on our last/first visit also our friends would not forgive us if we went anywhere else!!!!!!!

Hi Lisa and Andy
We're off to Melbourne for the following reasons
1) Accountants are on the demand list for STNI
2) We've been STNI approved
3) Job prospects actually appear to be quite good (even though on demand list for STNI - but I would never go on that alone)
4) The best bits of Victoria seem to be within 1 to 1.5 hours of town whether you want mountains, rivers, beaches or skiing
5) Very cosmopolitan city
6) A beautiful place to be (Architecture, etc)
7) Good beaches are closeby
8) The Tennis and the Grand Prix (maybe even AFL - I'm sure we can all be converted)
9) Massive choice of things to fo in Melbourne
10) The cooler weather
11) Good schools
12) Been there already
13) Have an uncle and cousin out there
14) The people
15) Trains seem to run on time
16) Nice wide pavements
17) Not too congested
18) Massive choice and good quality food
19) Victoria indoor market
What we dont like about it:-
1) House prices are high
2) Cost of living is high
3) Rains too much

going to perth
great small city with friendly laid back people, streets not crowded and no sunday shops open, have good sporting attractions and lots of recrational sport especially watersports
found the climate suited me the best in perth compared to other cities in oz
the beaches around perth are great as are the beaches within a few hours drive of perth (cape le grand national park in esperance, is one of many)
the national parks in WA are superb and give a range of diverse landscapes
we will be able to visit other large cities in oz (melbourne, sydney) for small trips which i find better than living in them and being in their rat race
house prices are reasonable for the size of house i would like
perth is isolated, good to not be in the mix of it all
