Stupid question but in peoples experience where in the house do the removal men normally start or will they just do the rooms you request first?

We had three guys turn up. One started in the kitchen, one started upstairs and the other in the garage.

Wherever they want to Best bit of advice I got was to put everything not going in one cleared room and shut the door and put a sign on it - please do not pack. Far safer than having a few bits here and there - it will get packed

the car is another good place to put some items out of packing reach.

They pack quickly and there were a couple of items that were packed that should not have been. We had 3 guys and meant 3 rooms at a time were being packed.

Can anyone who has had experience of receiving shipping quotes, do they tend to give you the quote while they are there?

Not usually, they normally send it to you a couple of days after they have visited. Might be different now though as we did this a year ago.

We had three men and as said they all started in different rooms. They were very quick and very professional and had virtually the whole house packed by the end of the first day. On the second day the finished off and then loaded up the container when it arrived and it was all gone by 2.00pm!! We put aside a large cupboard in a couple of rooms with signs on them "Do not touch" and pointed this out to them when they arrived. Good luck.

Yep - as someone else said : Where ever they want - but they WILL leave the kettle and mugs as the last items!

We found it safest just to ensure no accidents - pack the car as if you're ready to leave. That way - everything else (pretty much) can go in the boxes.

We generally like to pack the kitchens first these take the longest, followed by the dining room [china etc] Lounge room [ornaments].
master bed room [look under bed no toys /mags etc]
Kids rooms, bath room, laundry[utility room] . we do the garage and sheds last as you generally end up covered in crap.... ........ mm
