Default When seats allocated online...

For example with online check in and you choose your seat. Does that give you the same seat for both legs of the flight?

Yes or no. Depends on whether you have to change planes at your stopover. Or whether you change airlines. It you only stop for a quick re-fuel then you probably will keep your same seat. If you have to get off and change planes you will most likely be seated somewhere else. You can ask when you check in for a preferred seat, but they can't always do it.

not neccesarily- who booked the seats? when we bkd with emirates we physically had to programme in our seats for each person on each leg of the flight, so we knew we had bkd them-how did you do yours?

Flying with BA and chose the seat online but it didn't give me an option to book the second leg. Its only a 1 hr 25min stop in Bangkok so would we even get off the plane?

they used to make you diembark when refuelling- dont know if they do that anymore- you may just be picking extra passengers- I'd just give BA a quick bell they'll be able to tell you straightaway-peace of mind eh?

Afraid so. We flew BA to Bangkok and onwards to Sydney only stopping for about the same period of time. We had to get off so that they could clean the plane which was fair enough. The problem is that you have to go through the whole customs rigmarole at Bangkok, so by the time you've done that it's practically time to get back on anyway. They were also pretty strict with fluids and you have to do the taking your shoes off thing too.
Deep joy!

If it is the same plane it would remain the same seat, as you can leave stuff on there if required and thus it makes sense for everyone to keep it consistent. BA flights will go straight through so you would thus only have one seat for the entire duration...
