When do I get permenant residency?
Hi folks,
Wifey always told me that when I get my visa, I think it is 136, that I will automatically get permenant residency?
Is this true?
I don't want to give everything up here, to be denied residency as I have a daughter with Asperger's and I don't want to jeopardise my position here, not to be accepted permenantly into Oz.
If it doesn't guarantee PR, can I apply before I go?
I know I am niave,

In fact you shouldn't rely on wifey all the time mate.

Only thing you have to worry about once you have PR is that you are a good boy
and if you need to leave Aus for any length of time check if you need a Residents Return Visa so they'll let you back in.
