The husband works north GC and he reckons his workshop hit mid 40s. He drove home, got out of the car and fell into the pool We had a high of 34 which was fine.

Quite possible, specially if it was the temperature adjusted for humidity figure, (also called the 'feels like' figure, and/or measured in the sun - or inside a building with no air con.

Its likely to continue much the same all week. Take care and keep hydrated.

Don't know, but surprisingly they grow very well in my garden - a friend recently remarked my garden reminded him of QLD! My wife planted something called Alocasia (Elephants Ears) which are supposed to hate temperatures under 16 degrees and they are taking over the raised bed they are in!

woops off topic.....

Been a lovely day today. About 25oC and we managed to find and mostly repair all the irrigation in all the gardens. Not been used for about 10 years we think

Likely to continue all week I'm afraid

Tis the first time I've heard everyone at work moaning about the heat. There's usually a couple when the weatehr gets hotter, but both shifts today were all Aussies apart from me, and every one of them was whinging like the proverbial planeload of Poms
