What's the Temperature & Weather like where you are now?

Re: What's the Temperature where you are now?
Oh that that were true...the reason it's been so cold here in the back blocks of Vic this winter is that humidity has been VERY high along with low temps. I'm very sad and have a weather station. We've been having prolonged spells of 90 + humidity, with clear, star lit skies.
What I was meaning though is that there is an oft quoted 'typical' Brisbane summer of 35C + 90% humidity...tall tales in IMO.

Average 3pm relative humidity and temperature in Brisbane in summer is around 27C and 58%.
Sydney is around 24.5C and 61%, Melbourne is just under 24C and around 48%.
Cairns is around 30C and 66%, Darwin is around 30.5C and close to 70%.
If you convert those figures to dew points (the temperature at which the air becomes saturated), which takes temperature and humidity into account and is a better measure of how oppressive a place is;
Brisbane= 18C
Melbourne= 12.4C
Sydney= 16.5C
Cairns= 23C
Darwin= 24.4C
So Darwin is the most oppressive place in summer, a little ahead of Cairns which is significantly worse than Brisbane. Brisbane is a little worse than Sydney and Melbourne on average is the least oppressive place.

I'm convinced she lives on the side of a Gold Coast hinterland mountain under some thick shady rainforest canopy....she is always freezing on days I think are quite pleasant in Brisbane Am I close moneypenny?

Re: What's the Temperature where you are now?
Gold coast - tick
hinterland - no tick
mountain - not really, big bloody hill though
thick shady rainforest canopy - definitely no tick
However, we're at the top of a long high ridge and from speaking to friends who live down the hill, we definitely have our own climate here. Only 8 minutes from the beach. I also rarely get hot, even in high summer I can have goose pimples

"even in high summer I can have goose pimples" - that is one magic street - might pm you for the address so I can park outside in high summer

Feel free, but the rest of the family consider me a joke so it's a personal magic, not a street one

I have to agree with you. Singapore feels like its about 300% all the time but it is the THI which is very high. When I lived in the States, when the temp was 80F and the humidty 80%, that was apparantly about as bad as it gets.
