I earn around $30-32000 and still get hit with the Medicare levy at tax time every year. Am now very confused as to why I am paying it then :confused:
Also with the gov't not capping health insurance companies premiums, as well as other invisible levies (e.g.Ansett tax) still apparently being collected, well......? |

Everyone pays the Medicare levy of 1.5% unless they are very low income earners. If your single and earn over $50,000 or a couple and earn combined over $100,000 and DONT have private insurance then they slug you an extra 1% |
