Hi

We will be arriving in 3 weeks and would be glad to hear your views on mermaid waters. Is there a local shopping / entertainment 'hub'? Which schools are in close proximity to the area? Are there many parks etc.

Your views - positive or negative would be greatly appreciated.

Nicky

Mermaid Waters is a lovely suburb - depending on your budget - expensive to buy and probably quite expensive to rent - especially the houses on the waterfront. Merrimac High is within walking distance. Not sure of the nearest primary school - probably Burleigh Heads and/or Varsity College. Parts of it would be within walking distance of Pacific Fair and Q Super Centre for shopping and also close to Robina Town Centre. Close to beach also. Loads of parks, big and small also in the suburb. (I'm open to correction on some of the above.....) Good luck. Michelle

My immediate response in my head was "very expensive". Only thing I'd add to Michelle's comments would be to add the Miami schools - high and primary. The High school has had bad press in the past but I don't think it necessarily true now. It's main claim to fame is that the state premier, Anna Bligh went to school there. Not sure if that's good or bad

Have to echo Moneypen on this one...my immediate reaction was also 'expensive' or should that be 'nice if you can afford it' ?
It's beautiful, the houses are flash, good choice of a few scools, close to all sorts of stuff, shopping and entertainment. Not sure if it's in the catchment area for Varsity College? You'll have to check their website.
