What time does it get dark??
Bizarre question from my partner......
I know, there are some silly questions asked on here but.....
We are going to be moving to Melbourne later this year and she was wondering what time does it get dark in the middle of summer and winter?

Brisbane is subtropical, so gets almost no twilight even in summer. Half an hour at most. Melbourne gets much later evenings in summer than us as they also have the advantage of daylight savings to go with their twilight. It's much more like the UK when it comes to length of days than Brisbane is .

It gets dark at 5pm in mid winter.
The good thing about Pommyland is that they get 7 months of Daylight saving, whereas NSW and VIC only get 5 months of saving. You'd have to look at exact times to compare. Of course, there are greater daylight losses in the UK winter, so it may balance out.

My kids particularly enjoy rising with the sun! I enjoy putting the Wiggles on the TV and going back to bed.

The earliest Sunrise is 05:18 on 29th October
The latest Sunrise is 07:36 on 30th June
