I don't know if it's a problem in Melbourne, but where we live in Perth it's not uncommon to have power outages. If you're bringing power boards for your UK equipment, it might be a good idea for them to be surge protector ones (or whatever they're called).

Not had any power outages here yet. But there have been some cracker thunderstorms and I'm sure that in several parts of the country it's probably the same so surge protection is probably a good idea. Thanks for reminding me about that :thumbup:
A generator is on the list of things to buy, if our power goes we don't have any water for starters. So, if you have one of those, pack it ;) And an Ark. |

I had a 7kg of hand luggage allowance on my flight. Before flying I spoke with the airline and they said that they generally allow a backpack or small suitcase as hand luggage and if you have a laptop, garmant or hand/man bag they will allow that too. I packed the back pack full of our photo albums to about 12kg and the garmant bag with other important documents without a garment to another 12kg. Total of 24kg of hand luggage - no one ever checked :thumbup:
