Have you never had a chocolate crackle? Everyone on this forum needs to go buy a box of rice bubbles and make a batch - you're not allowed to call yourself an aussie unless you have chocolate crackles at every kids party.

We don't have Copha in the UK - as far as I know anyway and there's nothing Aussie about Chocolate Crackles. Just saying. ;) It's about the first thing kids 'cook' when little in the UK and probably every country that has Rice Crispies and chocolate. |

I loathe and detest chocolate and even the smell makes me sick.

No need to put copha in it though. I made rice crispy and cornflake cakes as a kid with nothing more than the cereal and melted chocolate.

Try mixing Rice Krispies, toffees and marshmallows together to make toffee crackles. Yummy!

No because it's coconut oil and you can't actually taste it, it's not 'coconutty'.

The copha just makes it a little easier to stir through without breaking up all the rice bubbles and the coating's not as thick I guess, makes your mixture go further. Probably too expensive to make up a big batch with chocolate too for loads of kids so the old copha and cocoa powder became popular.

Wonder if they taste different to the Aussie ones then:confused: Chocolate doesn't break up the rice crispies:confused: Do you add copha and chocolate to yours then mate cos I don't get it? Do you just mix rice crispies and copha or rice crispies, copha and chocolate:confused: Do you melt them all together:confused: |

Yup. Melt a little butter in a pan, chuck in a bag of toffees, then when they've melted, chuck in a bag of marshmallows, then when they've melted too add the Rice Krispies and mix all together. You'll need to get them into cake cases quickly. And eat! Scrummy :D

I've used it before ( had to ask an old lady walking around in Coles what it was), it's by the butter and it has balloons on the front from memory, wrapped just like butter. |
