Bored one day, I thought I'd take the plunge and I like it (less hassle). My bosses here weren't overly concerned and clients haven't really said anything - apart from one who doesn't really count!

What did get me going though was when the wife and I went for a dinner date with some aussie friends. My wife's friend said straight away that the aussies would think I was either gay or a thug

Do aussie guys not have shaven heads?! i don't think I look thuggish and if anybody thinks I'm gay I just recount my tales of when I gave my wife the best 2 minutes of her life!!

Thoughts anyone as I don't want to turn up to an interview with future employers thinking I'm either gonna lift their shirt or batter the cr*p out of them.

Cheers,

Rob

p.s. this is a serious question, I could genuinely do with knowing in advance so I can grow the locks back!

Rob, its if you grow a Freddie Mercury style moustache and start 'mincing around' you will have to worry.

Actually, going off subject, did you watch 'Dom Joly' and his new programme 'World shut your mouth' last Friday anybody?

Its on BBC1 at about half eleven at night every Friday.

Last week, Dom dressed up in tight turn up denim jeans, white T shirt, leather studded jacket and a peak leather cap with a Freddie Mercury moustache.

He then went into the mens toilts with a portable stereo and blasted out 'Soft Cell, Tainted Love'.

Every time a bloke came in for a pee, he would camp it up and chat to them.

Most of the blokes ran out as fast as they could.

Very very funny.

Seriously, I think Rob if you are polite and well dressed, it shouldnt be a problem.

I say shouldn't, its a shame these days you can't wear your hair the way you like because of the fear of pre- judged comments.

(PS. I think your hair looks nice for what its worth)

mmmm - you don't think I can pull of a Leyton Hewitt look?!

Thanks for the comments PP. My wife has grown up from having red hair at school (and getting picked on) to having wonderfully dark auburn hair. I've always had a standard dark brown cut (nothing special) and never considered that my hair cut would potentially cause any debate.

But when our friend commented on it, I had visions of me having to get a long, straggly, bleach-blonde surf-dude cut!

Pic below - at the moment I go for a #1 all over. Did it b/c I used to have a similar cut when I was at Uni (trying to grasp at youth?!) and b/c of the ease.

I work in an office environment, so I guess it should be pretty relaxed.

Catch 22 - big enough to look after myself but then I fall into the first category of being a thug!!

Theres nowt wrong with bleached blond surfer look on a bronzed 19 year old bod.......

suppose now im 37 though I have absolutely no chance of ever getting one of those again!! (I did have a surfer dude bf many years ago.....blimey...cool down woman!! *breaks into a sweat at the memories*)

My other half now sports the clean shaven look on his bonce.....mainly because he's going bald (poor love, only 41) but I think he looks quite....erm....sexy actually!!!
he is concerned about the sun though...he easily burns on his head, bless!

Id say you look fine rob.....you like a 'nice' bloke so i doubt you'd run into any problems.

hehe, nice thought monepenny, only thing with that is if the sun is shining from behind then you will fall into the "redneck" category (yes we do have rednecks in aus too!). I should know, my first few weeks working on the farm I wore a baseball cap and my neck got so sunburned that i soon switched to the traditional aussie wide brimmed hat, minus the corks!
