What a Kerfuful!!!
I Cannot believe how long it takes to get into Oz. We have nealy been at it for 11 months and we still haven't got everything ready for the application.
Hopefully in the next couple of days we will get all the relevant paperwork. This country is really starting to get us down especially with all the politics at the moment and seeing that we enjoyed ourselves so much on our holiday there.
I do realise that on holidays anywhere looks fantastic but still 11 months on we are still going on about how fantastic Manly was.
Can anyone tell me how long it normally takes for the visas to come through?

What type of visa you applying for?
Ours is skilled independant 136 MODL occupation, told by agent should be 3-4 months.

Depends where you are in the process, do you need to have skills assessed or you ready to apply for your visa already ?

took us just under 2 years but that was doing it on our own so don't know if it's any quicker through an agent.

Been told by our agent 8 - 10 months from begining to end if theres no probs!!

we came in on a skilled visa and we started the process in May 02 put our application in Oct 02 and got our visa June 03, landed in Oz Oct 03!

we came in on skill des area spons 139....the visa took 5 months from application to bein granted

We are moving to Manly in Brisbane. Hopefully our agent is finalising our application and will send it off this week. Are you taking any possession across with you and if so how much have you been quoted??
