What happens when things go wrong??

It isnt going to happen but you know when just everything is spinning around in your head and in order to sleep a little better you just need to know the answer!!

We are awaiting TRA decision and going in on my husbands skills so fingers crossed we will get there some time soon!! My query is when we get to Oz and if we were to seperate/divorce (it isnt on the cards!! Well not yet but the stress of this Application could have a lasting effect!! ha ha) or even worse something more fatal happened to him, if we have come in on my husbands skills how would the kids and i stand??

Would we be able to stay even though we came in on his skills?? Or would they chuck us out of Australia??

I know it is a morbid question but just needing to know the answer in order to get a good nights sleep!!

Thanks

I think you all get PR status - the restriction is that you can't enter Aus before the main applicant. So as long as you pushed his dead ass over the line at customs & Immigration first ' you'd be right'

You each get a visa in your passports which gives you the right to PR I thought but stand to be corrected as ever.

Blimey, morbid thinking my friend! :(

I think if mine were to keel over and the lights were to go out, dd and I would have to go back to old Blighty. But then we're out here on a 457, so that's understandable. We're in the process of applying for PR so if we get that, I think it's up to me what we do if he should pop his clogs. Perish the thought! :scared:

I guess you are talking about the large one with funny hair. Or do you mean the hobbit? Every girl's fantasy :D :D :D

Seriously, interesting original post. Glad you brought it up and got some answers. This thought has crossed my mind. My other half is worth more dead than alive but I'd rather be poor and have him to cuddle than rich and sad. :)

Thats correct. At the time of the Visa grant you are granted a PR Visa in your own right. The only restriction will usually be that you are required to enter after the main applicant - your husband. After that time you are a free agent...visa wise that is...regardless of what then happens!!! :)

It does have to be asked.................

You would need to make an application for permanent residence. If the state sponsored you you'd probably be ok, otherwise you might end up looking for discretion from the Minister.

No they don't kick you out. Infact they are very understandable and they give you single family tax credit which means that :scared: you will be sooo much better off you could never afford to get back together again or re-marry. Not sure what would happen to the UK pension though and I would be pleased to know before I feed hubby the poison :D
