what is the future of Mechanical Design Engineers in Australia..Help Me!!

Hi all,
I have recently got my PR visa and planning to come soon in Australia..but before that can anybody please guide me on current job situations for Mechanical Engieer..meaning do I get job without local exp of australia or its easy to get it without any local exp..
Any suggetions will be really greatful for me...

Whereabouts are you planning on settling. Its kinda biggish down here...
Its definitely quitened down a bit,
Are you mechanical engineer in the building services or design??
I often find over here that they mix the 2 up and a lot of adverts for Mech Designers are
really either Building Services or Process (mining) engineers, and not real designers

What is the manufacturing industry like? My husband is a mechanical Engineer but has been working as a Quality engineer for a turbo manufacturing company for the past 8 years... We are heading to Perth.

get into oil and gas, forget anything else as it is not good, money and future are very good, thats means Perth....it's your choice!

yes, i am a mechanical engineer with exp. in Product Design & Development.
and that is true that they are always mix up with this building service exp..
so please can anybody let me know, which area is good for Product Design Mechanical Engineers as I am planning to move Melbourne first but its not the final destination for me as I can move anywhere in Australia wherever I found jobs...

I trained as a Mechanical Engineer, Now I do IT Infrastructure for the Casino's...
