Southbank beach, New Farm park, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
Picnic at Currumbin Rock Pools.
Explore the waterfalls/rainforest behind Brisbane/Gold Coast.
Visit Oreilly's.

You could make a picnic and catch the water taxi over to Tangalooma and go swimming/snorkeling around the wrecks and lazing in the water.

O'Reilly's is a great place to go. Take a picnic Christmas lunch and have a hike through the beautiful rainforest.
