There may be other brands of Jamaican jerk spice about. If not in major shops try "Asian" grocery specialists.

It may be composed mainly of allspice and hot chillies.

A Jamaican Jerk Sauce Recipe.

Cheers for that

You cant buy a decent jam doughtnut here all the options of dunkin doughtnuts etc are crap IMO.
I have great problems finding stockings for some reason stocks are very hit and miss.
You cant get short grain rice, thier 'tasty' (mature) cheese is anything but and dont get me started on the bacon...' I did used to love the john west mackrel in spicy tomato sauce but they only have it here in oil or brine (not the john west version).
I have to admit I miss not having Primark too.

and also decent marzipan and decent ready to roll icing. They sell thier version here - it's called plastic icing and thats how it tastes!

This pea? Not a fan of dals but the pigeon pea pods might be good as a vegetable.

Perhaps you should look a bit harder: SunRice.

SunRice medium grain makes a good all-rounder rice. The "Wholegrain Brown Rice" is tastier than white ("polished") rice and can be cooked in standard rice cookers but the grains don't stick together so might frustrate well mannered chop-stick users.

"Tasty" cheese isn't. "Vintage" is.

TOTALLY agree on the jam donut thing ...although when i come accross a Krispy Kreme stand/shop i do buy a bucket full as theyre decent.
I think clothing here in general is a bit "hit and miss" as you put it.
I go for the Colby cheese slices they seem to have the best flavour (woolies finest i think) and do you know not even tried any bacon yet ?? Will make a point of trying it now.
I have a Primark parcel on its way from the Uk (thanks to parents) to stock us up a little ;) as i do find clothing here either over priced for the quality or cheap and threadbare !!! Never mind !! :)

Jam doughnuts died off in the 1960's but can occassionaly be found resurrected in urban "Vietnamese" and rural bakeshops.

Not very PC but oh well - fresh foi gras - love it. You also don't see much offal - I love calves liver and difficult to find, even if you try and order it in advance.

I say it every time but have to say it again - unpasturised cheese - you can get Roquefort but that is about it. some of the cheese you get here is very good but it is not quite the same.

What is it with the trainers over here? The Ascis brand for instance cost hundreds of dollars here, yet they're council kid trainers in the UK.

Give me a pair of decent imported Lacoste anyday of the week.

Lol, I agree 100%! And don't get me started on the lack of toddlers trainers!! I miss going into a sports shop and EASILY picking a new pair of trainers - you go in, look at the 5 pairs of half decent trainers and then leave with nothing!
My husband has taken to buying Shox off of ebay!
