We aren't in Australia yet but we are expats living in NZ.

We brought 3 children with us, at the time they were 9, 2 and 1. We planned to move to Aus before eldest hit his senior years, then after, then before but something always came up that would have put a spanner in the works so we're now looking at going over in 18 months. Eldest will be 16, middle one will be 9 and youngest 7/8.

My girls were 14 and 5 year old twins. All have settled in beautifully.

We were lucky, they were 3 & 5. Eldest did a year of Grade 1 in the Uk and then repeated the year when he came out he, didn't do him any harm and was a real benefit. It would be hard to move schools in high school but there will never be an easy age......

A friend that moves around as her husband is something in the mines said hers were fine until Grade 6 and then they had trouble settling in to new schools. Think you are just going to have to go for it. My son had a new boy start last week in his class from USA and he has been made very welcome by the school and classmates and has settled in really well.... good luck...
