Default we've arrived - any info please?

hi guys well we have finally arrived here in sunny queensland and enjoying every minute of it. However, we have narrowed down our possible suburbs to live to:
East
Ormiston/Birkdale
Carina Heights/Carindale
Sunnybank

West:
Collingwood Park / Karalee
Acacia Ridge
Holland Park/Chapel HIll - currently staying here!

we will be visiting each and every one separately this week, but wondered if anyone had info on good high schools in the suburbs or general info on the areas
any advice would be great thanks

We are at the Bayside area which is nice, Bit on the quiet side but getting used to it.
Regarding high schools, We have been told that the state high schools are quite rough but i don't think they are any rougher than the one my daughter would have went to back in Aberdeen.

Welcome to Queensland. What about heading South to the Gold Coast, otherwise, out of your list Ormiston is nice and it's on the water so maybe a bit cooler in the Summer.

Paul.

Are you looking at State Schools or Private ?

Ormiston College Info and it's an overall nice area too

Agreed, they may be rough compared to the private ones here, but they're no different to the ones we all went to as kids in the UK.

My thoughts (if anyone doesnt like them - tough! Tell someone who cares! ) -

East
Ormiston/Birkdale - Nice, just stay away from the end of Birkdale closest to Capalaba. Also look at Wellington Point
Carina Heights/Carindale - Great area - excellent choice (it's where I live LOL)
Sunnybank - OK if you like new estates

West:
Collingwood Park / Karalee - Bloody hot & certainly not where I would choose to live

Acacia Ridge - Very industrial & working class, also some noise from the light aircraft aerodrome.

Holland Park - Stay in Holland Park & you should be fine. Holland Park West has some council housing in it which pulls down the rest of the suburb.

Chapel HIll - currently staying here! Great area - very very nice, just gets hot in summer

If you decide to stay in Chapel Hill, Indooroopilly State High school is very very good. Much smaller than nearby Kenmore and they actually care about their kids.

Can I just ask how you nearrowed down those areas? They are all very different and don't seem to have much in common.
