Well, this is it...
My wife has just gone out to mail off her spouse visa application. Got everything but FBI checks and meds done. Should be pretty straightforward; been married nearly 6 years and have two kids and my father will let us stay at his place when we get back there.
The die is cast! Wish us luck...

An update. I'm US$926 poorer today. Washington DIMIA have taken their dosh for the spouse visa application.
