Default Welding Licence - WA

I've seen posts about licence's, tickets and certificates you need for certain trades around Australia but does anybody know what you need for welding in WA?

Many Thanks

I,ve worked on a few sites here including mine sites and desal plants and on every one there were welders without formal qualifactions, you have to pass a weld test on every project here and that is what gets you the job.
A decent welder will have no problem getting work and there are well paid jobs for coded TIG welders.

Fantastic, Thanks for the reply, I thought he was going to have to jump through hoops like some tradies. He's an extremely competent welder mainly in aluminium. Not coded though there's been no need for it here but might be worth looking into in Oz if the money's better. He should be alright with the weld tests - at his work he's the one who gives people the weld tests!

Definitely get the coded certs if he can. Won't stop him working without it but will add more $$$$ to your shopping budget!
