weetbix in the cereal aisles of all supermarkes here ( coles woolworths, Bilo) is Australian. Weetabix in the curry aisle - international food aisle if that's what you want to call it ( in Bilo) is shipped in from the UK... it's imported and made in England, along with the Alpen and Jaffa cakes . I think many people are confusing the two.

Mcvities biscuits- from the UK ( the choc digestive) are just in the normal biscuit aisle.. they are in most stores.

Now this will teach me to pay more attention...went into BiLo's and scanned the ceral section...forgot u told me to look on the international...doh.....back to Capalaba tomorrow then!!!

Personally I think the Weetbix they have here taste like floor sweepings! I'll be in BiLo later to get some of the real thing - glad I read the rest of the thread otherwise I would have been cursing in the cereal section, too! :D

Thanks, you've just made my day!! I absolutely love my breakfast and it's my favourite meal of the day. I mix Grape Nuts, Alpen museli and Special K. I know, mad, but hey, I like it like that. When we went to Perth in May I tried some of the Aussie museli, (even various different brands), and I have to say they were awful so I had to just have Special K all on it's own - like most people eat it I guess, but it just wasn't the breakfast meal that I love.
But if I can get Alpen I'll be a seriously happy bunny and just have to get used to not having Grape Nuts anymore :(

We're off in 12 days time and when we go grocery shopping I'll definitely go and check out the International Food aisle. Hubby also loves weetabix so he's well chuffed that he's still gonna have what he likes.
Now I just need to find Grape Nuts.... suggestions anyone?

Going on about breakfast food has just reminded me of one that i tried last time I was over; Chocolate with nuts I think it was, but can't remember the name now. Tempting to ask someone to send me over a case :)

Floor sweepings - excellent description! Very accurate!
Think the manager of our local BiLo must read this forum as there is a very large amount of Weetabix stacked on the shelves at present - he is obviously expecting a rush!

i know i know...just had BiLo stuck in my head....lol. was so looking forward to surprising him with 3 weetabix in a dish for brekkie tom too....oh well it can be a weekend treat...if i ever find it of course...lol!!!....is ur local one the one near the airport u mentioned??? If i dont get any in capalaba might call in tom...got to pick the hubby up from the airport...the lucky devil has gone to cairns!

I'll have to check my Local Bilo (Victoria Point) in the morning, :) but my daughter is so used to Weet-bix, she probably wouldn't want to try them anyway. I used to eat them spread with butter as a biscuit when I was young.
