Neat lavender oil really helps stave off the itch and also protects against infection/inflammation.

are you sure that you're being bitten by mossies?

buy a mossie net and sleep under it for a few nights.. If you're still getting bitten then it isn't mossies.

Well I haven't been bitten since probably March/April and I was bitten again the other night....what else would you suggest it might be? I'm intrigued....

If its ankle bites it may be fleas?

I know, I'm a cheery soul :D

One good thing to take away the itch is putting an ice cube on the bite.

Thanks, that's reassuring to know! That's where my current one is, my ankle, eek! Got that mortein plug in thing this morning, they'd a liquid version as well Soapy, is that one as good? I tried the wee electric shock zapped thing once for my bites, wasn't overly impressed!? Tried crossing the bite with my thumbnail yday too but it still itched like mad in bed! Aw well lol

i spotted the liquid one too, but i have never used it pal. give it a go. i do know the pads work

when we were in sydney a friend came over for 3 weeks. after the first week she was eaten alive.
thats when i came up with the powerboard under the table idea.
for the other 2 weeks she only had the odd bite and she thinks that was from inside the house because i didnt use them there.
you find that when you have visitors that the tend to leave the screen door ajar now and again. its just that they are not used to shutting a door when its hot outside. after a few bites when they are sleeping they seem to clock on lmao:lol:

Ok I have noticed this last few nights that the things that were biting me back in the Summer/Autumn have woken from their slumber and are out for my blood again! I have been bitten a few times now in my sleep, anyone any suggestions as to something I could plug in/put in the bedroom to deter them from eating me!?!?!?! I really can't go through this all over again as I have some quite bad reactions to biting insects....:(

Thanks folks xo

Hi Jen

mozzies seem to like taking a chunk outta me too and that's in the UK! Goodness knows what it will be like when we get out there! One thing I had found good for taking away the itch at night is to put half a dozen drops of tea tree oil in the bath before bed. Eating marmite also helps as it gives you a horrid taste to the mozzies (apparently!)

I'm a big Marmite fan and I'm sorry to tell you that it doesn't work as a mozzie deterent. If you are attrictive to mozzies in the UK then you are in big trouble... I would start spraying the Aerogard, tropical strength, as soon as you land.
