We MET by the SKEGGS (life down under)
While on Holiday/Rekki this easter, we were at Burswood Casino Restaurant eating a lovely meal when the Skeggs family (From Tv series 'Life Down Under') came and sat on the table next to us. I joked with Mandy (The Mother), saying her hair looked better than when she was on the tv!
I had a good chat with Mick, (The Father) about life in Perth, he said all positive things.I felt like a little boy meeting someone famous!

Re: We MET by the SKEGGS (life down under)
I was doing a search for this series the other day - and turned up the following blog entry on this guy's page....
I've just watched a bit of Channel Four's A New Life Down Under, in which a morose Cockney and his improbably orange wife were explaining their motivation for leaving England to move to Australia. "We were in London the other day", he said, "and there were just too many asylum seekers".
Riiiiiight. So you checked all their visas and papers personally, did you? You performed a citizen's arrest on every short, dark and/or dirty looking person you saw in Waltamstow and frogmarched them to the Home Office so as to verify their refugee status, did you?
Did you ****. What you mean is, you were in London the other day, and you saw lots of people who appeared to be both darker and poorer than you and your stupid ****ing spaniel of a wife (who by the way looks like ****ing Lily Savage only less bangable). So, being the subliterate Daily Express-reading shit that you are, you decided that they must all be asylum seekers. Nice: you're as smart as you are compassionate.
I mean it's a classic: There were too many immigrants, so I decided to become one. Wanker, I hope that on your first day on the beach you get gang-penetrated by a school of aggressively homosexual hammerhead sharks. That would be bonzer.

I think its worthwhile reminding everyone, including myself, that television producers want to make good ratings, this sometimes means finding "real characters" so to speak...

Thats right, it's all edited to make good tv. I was in email contact with Rachel last year for a while....she was slated on this site. (Remember her with her daughter Esme?) Well she is lovely and what they dont show on TV is that her ex was a philandering so and so who was high tailing it down to Sydney on the pretense of business to spread a little love around. But they never showed that bit! So she was stitched up to look awful when in fact it was not the whole picture. I think you'd be nuts to consider going on one of these shows after seeing how they get edited!

I shall admit to be sad enough to watching it since this morning right up until 8pm where I was dragged away from the TV kicking and screaming so Abdel could watch his film.
