Is there a list is the UK of people who have emmigrated ? Are we in some government archives ?

There will certainly be a list of people who have immigrated to Australia, on a Department of Immigration database. As to how current it is, based on what people who have left the country filled in on their departure cards is open to debate.

But if they needed too they could easily tally up their database with the Medicare and ATO ones to get an accurate picture.

As for a list in the UK of people who have left? are you kidding, they hardly know how many people live in the country let alone who they are.

When I went back to the UK after 10 years, I found that I had been removed from my Doctors list, and my medical records had been disposed of. And that was without telling the doctor that I was leaving.

Not sure what it means, but they must have some way of keeping track of the fact that some people no longer exist
