Jeez its a long flight!! Reccomend Sigapore airlines, staff were great especially with the kids.
No problems with the flight, just long and uncomfortable.
No real problems at customs either, never even checked my cricket gear, although did confiscate 2 boxes of Atora beef suet (for a friend who likes dumplings!!). The most noticable thing has been the friendliness of the Ozzie folks, from customs, to taxi driver to hotel staff to bank staff etc. Arrived at 7.15pm, straight to Royal on the park hotel (dead nice), supper (room service) a cold bottle of XXXX Gold, then bed at 10.30. (My sister had also arranged for a bottle of Champagne for the room, which we will drink tonight, and had a cake from her on the plane as it was our wedding anniversary). All of us wide awake at 3am, up at 5.30, then had a walk around the botanical gardens over the road. Returned for breakfast, full English of course, then 5 minute walk into town. Sorted mobile out and activated bank account. Lady at ANZ was great. Bought kids some new toys and going to hotel (outdoor) pool now and for some lunch. Brisbane is really nice, but I knew that already. Sorting out a hire car tomorrow and then down to Grafton on Friday, for the Jacaranda festival.
Be back later with another update.

Glad you made it safely. Try the south bank in brisbane nice for coffee and wander through stalls. We were shagged for a week, slept at 6pm every night before we pulled ourselves together.
Have you got job lined up then?

Hi Paul - nice to know you have arrived safely - sorry I never got to chat to you more on the flight but every time I passed you you were either dozing or watching films (like we were!!!). Totally agree about the flight - they were so good but it dosen't stop it being long and boring - my legs were so sore and cramped - theres no room when the seat in front gets reclined is there?
We are having a fantastic time in Singapore - i'm so glad we have got the worst leg of the flight over - I believe the next leg to Brisbane is only 7hrs 20mins? we are still getting over the jetlag but the hotel is really luxurious and we are taking it easy exploring everywhere. We arrive in Brisbane at 19.30 on Saturday night - i'm very excited. We also found out this am that our dog poppy has arrived safely in Sydney - a bit stressed but apparantly she danced when she got out of her crate!
Good luck with the move to Grafton - enjoy your remaining time in Brisbane.
Lynn
