Default We got it today, but emotions are thin!

Got "THE E-MAIL" from our agents to tell us we have our visas!!! Yippee . . . . . .

. . . . . . but our house sale is going pear shaped. We were meant to exchange three times last week, with "funds clearing" being the reason for the delays. On Friday we were finally told that there is a problem with our buyers sale - they were selling a flat with a defective lease.

How can one get too excited, when there is such a dark cloud looing over our heads.

I know it is exciting and that's half the battle won and that many out there would love to be in our shoes, but the current state of our emotions is a deflation! I always imagined this day to be really exciting, champagne popped open etc etc . . . . sigh.

Sorry, muct be the weather. On a bit of a downer at the moment - in case you hadn't noticed!!!!

Sod the house, do a bit of celebrating!!

After all, another buyer could come along but you only had the one chance of the visa (if you know what I mean)

It will all work out in the end, and in the meantime CONGRATS

Thanks Bridie

There is definitely some excietement lurking somewhere, otherwise I wouldn't have sent a million e-mails and text messages out telling everyone our news!!!!

You're absolutely right. I'm just being a melodramatic old goat. Something to do with being a control freak probably, as everything related to Oz has been out of my control - visas, house sale etc etc.

Just great to know we have been accepted!!!!

Some karma coming your way.

Ooohhh yeah, go celebrate !
The less stressed you are the more likely the house sale will go through....don't know what the science bit is to explain that theory but its commonly known as sods law !!!
Congratulations

Hi Karen

You're absolutely right. See that you are also trying to get rid of your house. Have you had an offer on it?

Thanks

Been accepted on a SIR visa, going to Geelong, Victoria.

Feb 2004: Applied for Skills Assessment. During this time, we were told that the points were increasing to 120. Advised to wait until July 2004 for SIR visa.
July 2004: Applied to SA for SIR sponsorship. Refused IT professionals.
August 2004: Applied to Queensland, asked for more information. Meanwhile Victoria opened up to SIR applicants and applied there.
Dec 2004: Approved for sponsorship.
Jan 2005: Applied for SIR visa.
March 2005: Medicals requested.
June 2005: Capital investment requested. Advised to wait until July for 10 bonus points.
19 July 2005: Visas granted!!!!!

Yippee - just writing that down has got me all excited again!!! Not too much drinking tonight, but plenty this weekend coming as it's also my birthday.

OOPS - forgot to say we have planned to be in Oz around mid Sept, which is why I'm getting pretty desperate about the house. We're in France for the whole of August - can't wait to get away.

Hi sorry to hear the news but mega congrats on the visa. We are in a similar boat as the house sale went pear shaped this weekend although we got our visas 9 May but house sale has fallen through once already. Hoping to have a definite completion date tomorrow afternoon.

Good luck and enjoy the visa
