We are finally here!!!!!!!!

Hi,
Just to let everyone know we have been here nearly 4 months and loving it so far. I know that people who are still waiting like to hear how it is when you first arrive, (I know I used to), so I thought I would post.
We arrived 13th June 2006. I have two sisters already living here so we had a little welcoming committee which was great. We rented a furnished house for 3 weeks and had a rental car waiting at the airport, both arranged on-line from the UK.
We gave ourselves a couple of days to get over the jet lag then it was straight into activating the bank account, sorting Medicare and tax file numbers etc. We had one bit of bad news though when we went to transfer our driving licences. Iain is a HGV driver but we discovered that in May the rules changed and they only automatically give you a car licence, his HGV could not just be transferred. He has had to re-take a driving test and everything. Bit of blow, as it delayed his being able to work and cost loads too. Anyway he is now the proud owner of a MC licence and started work today driving a road train.
After the 3 weeks in furnished we moved into a long term rental in Butler while we look around to buy, and hope the prices calm down a bit!!!!! My 8 year old is at Butler Primary and loves it. He is looking so healthy as he is out playing on his bike when not in school as there are so many parks etc near by and so many kids to play with.
Anyway I won't ramble on any longer but for all those waiting, in my opinion its well worth the wait, especially on a glorious day like its been today
