I'm not a specialist but I'm surprised they've sent Claire home with broken waters.

I'm rivited to this thread........

Fingers crossed!

DollyDayDream - a quick midwife explanation to put your mind at rest re. broken waters. The best place to be is home - hospital can't do anything really. The main risk (which is very small) is of infection - because the waters are not protecting the baby any more. Claire will be far more likely to get an infection in the hospital, than in her home.

Claire - eat and rest because you are going to working hard soon! Good luck.

Don't want to put the dampers on anything but if Claire is like me, after induction could be another couple of days. Rest now Claire - possible long haul ahead.

Good luck to both of you.

Thanks for that Rachel. I knew she may be susceptible to an infection hence being a tad bit worried but as you say, Claire's much better off at home.

I wonder how she's getting on?

Steve & Claire,

Dave has been hogging the lap-top so only just caught up with the latest development!!!

Just to say thinking of you both and Claire, you can continue your labour knowing that about most of the BE forum are waiting with baited breath to hear once the little 'un arrives!!

I've done abit of research and if little 'un is born today, he/she will share a birthday with the likes of Alfred Hitchcook, Fidel Castro and (here's where it gets abit dodgy) Bernard Manning and Rod Hull (of Rod Hull and Emu fame)!

Know how that feels. We were sent home with our second child only to go back in later the same day. Followed by a 24+ hour labour!!!.
Good luck, wont be long now.
