water rates - brisbane
Hi,
Does anybody know how much rates are for a typical unit in Brisbane. Also, do you have to pay seperate rates for water...how much for that?
thanks,
Jason

Not sure on how general rates work on a unit, but water rates are on usage. Its billed at $.84/kilolitre. My guess is that you would have to pay for whatever water you use in your unit & the body corp would somehow work in an amount to cover the water used for the building as a whole ie any gardens, cleaning driveways, washing walls etc which would be seperate to your units personal water bill. That amount (for general usage on the buildings etc) would probably be covered in your body corporate fees. My guess, I may be completely wrong of course
The rates bill itself has the water charge included in it- our latest rates bill is $481 (for a quarter), including water rates of $49.
Confused? Good, I've done my job well then

Cmon gettin ya doodah emptied is a darn sight cheaper than inflated rates, specially if ur on acreage.
ANd by all accounts, rates are set to rise quite dramatically, whilst proportionally i will still sewer the same qty !
Mind you the missus disagrees

What will they spend the extra on on ?
Figures quoted are based on Redlands Council.
