WA - Driving Licence conversion
Hello Everyone,
I am currently looking at getting a job in WA driving in the Mining Industry. I hold the following UK Licence categories:
A - Motorbike
B - Car
BE - Car & Trailer
C - Lorries between 3500kg and 7500kg with a trailer up to 750kg.
CE - Vehicles over 3500kg with a trailer over 750kg.
C1E - Lorries between 3500kg and 7500kg with a trailer over 750kg - total weight not more than 12000kg
D1 - Vehicles with between 9 and 16 passenger seats with a trailer up to 750kg.
D1E - Combinations of vehicles where the towing vehicle is in subcategory D1 and its trailer has a MAM of over 750kg.
Basically, motorbike, car and truck (Class I - articulated).
What I'd like to know is how do I get a WA licence with these categories without having a WA address? I'm guessing I can't, but I cant get an address without a job and I can't get a job without the licence. Catch 22...
My brother and his family already live in Perth but I don't really want to use his address unless I have to.
Help please!
Thanks in advance.

As for the conversion you will only be able to transfer car and bike. All other classes require a test I believe. When I arrived you could transfer the 7.5 tonne section of your british licence but they don't do that now.

You will not qualify for a Visa with driving skills, so you will need that before you think about a licence.
The previous poster is correct, the UK HGV is useless, it will only be transferred to a Light Ridgid Vehicle. You will then need to obtain a Heavy Ridgid and up wards from there.
