Visa processing times and exchange rates
WHY WHY does it take so long ?? Its so frustrating !! Do the Austranian Government know that peple like us are wasting our time just sitting waiting for some one to complete their paperwork !!
We have applied for a SIR 495 visa for Adelaide.
We started the process a year ago, passed TRA, got sponsorship and then lodged on 17th august. Got acknowledged 5th Feb, submitted Police checks and meds in January, without being asked.
Why cant they just make a decision !!! :curse:Then we know and we can get on with the rest of our lives.
We are 45 and need to move on. We do not wish to stay in UK because it is finnised !! it is a sewer of ............
The exchange rate too is sucha heart ache. We exchanged a lump sum in sept last year at 250 and now it is soo painful keep watching it hover around214.
Does anyone have a crystal ball out there ?>?????

We are also on the 475 skilled sponsorship visa and it took us 20 months in total to get through the whole process. It's very frustrating cos like you our lives were on hold the whole time. We waited until we were called before applying for the medicals and police checks. We were asked for them in September 07 and received our visa's on the 3rd December 07 and were now off to a better life in Adelaide in June 08. However we were told it could take up to 6 months to get our results/visa.. so i think you just need to be patient (which i know isn't easy!!)
