Hi

Checked my visa number last night with the number that is printed on my passport but one digit is out is this likely to cause me a problem on going to and from Oz?

Can anyone help?

you have june until you fly? i would ring them and get this sorted, if you were going sooner i would just turn up at immigration and bluff it out, it is their mistake after all.

Was it wrong or was just the last number in the middle before the letters missing??? if you get what I mean !!

There was another thread about this a while back and so I checked my 3 visas against passports. All where missing the last no (from memory) compared to the exact passport no. on bottom of passport.

I figure that's just the way they do it as all three were the same.

Anyway, flying to Oz tomorrow so will post back on Monday if I have a problem !!!! Can't give a better service than that !!

Thank you for your post, the only way I can explain it is

The last number of the set of 10 numbers on my passport is missing on my visa

and

the last number before the letter on my passport is missing on my visa.

Does this make sense??

I checked our 4 passports and they are exctly like yours, some digits missing, think this is the way its meant to be

I was also missing the last number, but also, numbers were changed: the 8 became a A!

The net result, coupled together with a stupid airline official meant I was banned from Australia for 3 years....(on a temporary visa) - Now my case may be different, and it sounds like it is..but check.

I went ballistic and threatened to sue the airline. I would have made them pay for making me spend the 3 years of my life in the UK, and away from family in Australia !! lol
