Default Visa Granted While We Were On Hols

We have been living at my parents for the past 2 months so we decided to go to the Lakes for a week for a breather.
I gave my dad a quick lesson in how to read e-mails before we went!!!! and gave him strict instructions not to ring me on my mobile unless it was to say that the visa had been granted. Anyway he rang on Friday to give us the good news.
We are off to book the flights tomorrow and hopefully will be flying 31 March/1 April so we are not hanging around.
Good luck to everyone still waiting - especially the pre-julyers!!!

Joanne

PS - frontloaded application received 30 November 04 and money debited 6 December - VISA GRANTED 4 MARCH. Hubby is a Nurse.

That's exactly it. DIMIA sped up the process (dramatically) for anyone applying after 1st July last year. Unfortunately for those already in the queue before that date, processing seemed to grind to a halt for ages and they are only now catching up.

Have a look at Austimeline to give you an idea of current processing times.
