So we have our visa and have done a validation trip last week the visa page was scanned on the way in and out of the country and also the book as stamped both ways aswell. So now they know we have been we have 5 years now to move?? Do we have to tell anyone that we have been to validate the visas?? So if we are ok with that what do we do when we move out there in Jan/Feb?? do we have to tell the government etc?? Our friend went to NZ and they has to say they were in the country and what jobs they had etc. please help! Pete

[QUOTE=CHnJ]I'm not sure what you're asking. Yes, the immigration computers log the number of days you're in the country - they were able to add up our short trips and long stay to tell us what day we are eligible to apply for citizenship. The Australians only care that you accumulate 2 years out of 5 to keep within your visa restrictions. The only problem we found after our validation trip was that we couldn't get the 40kg allowance migrant fare when we did move. The Brits don't care that you're an Aussie PR.[/QUOTI
I just mean, when we get there to live what do we have to do? Pete

Search back for a "to do" list, there have been a few posted. Don't worry about registering with the government for migration purposes. Many people have commented that they didn't even get a "welcome to Australia" from passport control when they arrived. Just concentrate on setting up the things you do need like a car, medicare and somewhere to live.
