Hi
You & me both.
My cunning (??) plan was to apply to NBV first then ANMC. All docs went in June, NBV fee was debited from my a/c on July 13thbut haven't heard a peep from them. In fact, am currently torturing myself by checking my name the online public register daily! Thank God for their IT update or else I'd be plagueing them with e-mails too.
Good luck Dave & Wendy.

Apparently they have got a backlog aswell as LCU and every other OZ government office :curse: Trouble is visas can't be issued until registered with NBV. I thought they had a desperate shortage of nurses and midwives so why don't they get a bloody move on.
Do you think there is a conspiracy going on

My Vic registration took exactly two months and my modified ANMC took 9 weeks.

You don't have to register with a nursing board until you want to work although it is cheaper to register with a nursing board then do ANMC modified assessment.
P.S there is a nursing forum and you'll get lots of advice there

I have applied to Queensland but now unsure. Quite like the idea of Victoria and have also not entirely ruled out Adelaide! Agency told me this doesn't matter. Is this definately ok?

Hiya - it's not NBV registration you need for your visa - it's ANMC who do visa assessments.

I don't need to register with ANMC as going out on a sponsored 457 visa, only need to apply to state board, NBV, as sponsoring hospital is responsible for verifying skills and qualifications. 457 visa is supposed to be quicker but can't be issued until registration is through which is currently taking at least 8 wks were it used to take 4-6 wks.
Hope everyones wait is over soon
